BACKGROUND AND GOAL

Hiroshima Univ. test run

In preparation for a pilot program scheduled for the end of 2022, a demonstration run was conducted on campus to raise awareness among students. A student survey was also conducted simultaneously to identify issues related to delivery robots and on-campus logistics.

Demonstration DetailsLOMBY, loaded with “Hiroshima Cola,” traveled throughout the campus, including slopes and terraces. Students who responded to the previously distributed survey received a bottle of Hiroshima Cola. The survey aimed to clarify issues related to delivery robots and on-campus logistics. The event also served to raise awareness among students ahead of the full-scale demonstration scheduled for the end of 2022.
ResultsOperation: LOMBY successfully navigated a loop course of approximately 1 km on campus, including steep slopes.
Survey: Students indicated strong interest in using robots for food delivery and street vending. Many also noted that the school cafeteria often becomes overcrowded.
